Volvo Information Technology Japan(Volvo IT Japan) started Quality Control department in the year 2000. Further, with the aim of "Improvement in Quality Control of Software", a process called SB-QMS was laid.
SB-QMS includes 16 kinds of documents, planned to aid in improving the quality of the systems developed. For this a project management system was developed in-house; using which the management of project progress and maintenance of project documents on the web was realized.
In accordance with continual improvement of SB-QMS, an important step towards Quality Assurance was taken in March of 2003, when it was decided to introduce CMM to the software process cycle of Volvo IT Japan. After studying and updating the existing Quality documents, Volvo IT Japan acquired Maturity Level 2 in July of 2005 and about a year and a half later, Maturity Level 3 on 22nd of December 2006.

To improve the quality of systems developed and to reinforce the faith of the customer, Volvo IT Japan endeavors to keep improving its Quality Control process.
